The Boy

Vin is a true little boy who likes to pee outside. This picture was taken from our kitchen window.

He was so proud of himself and headed straight in the house to tell me the news. Of course he didn't have time to pull up his pants. Along a similar line is "Naked Rodeo"

Vin reads in the car and likes to accessorize with hats. Here is his sun & moon hat made at school and he took his black cowboy hat to school as his Show and Tell. I think he looks so handsome.

These are the 5 year old girls at school who love their Vin.
He's so small they think he's a baby and yet he can play with them. Today as I walked in to pick him up one little girl yelled,
"Hey... I know you, you're the little guy's Mom!"

2011 update

Looks like 2011 is officially started for the De Leon’s.

Vin started his new daycare last week and is acclimating well. Drew is there with him which made it easier and they have a different activity each day such as Spanish, Computer, Energizers, Choir and Art. I pick him up at 4 everyday but they’re open until 6 if needed.

Teri is back on the road again, but enjoyed a long holiday break and then another when we went to New Orleans. Chili’s is currently featuring a menu called “Wild or Mild” which she developed. It’s been highly successful and we’re really proud of her. Try it the next time your there!

School started for me today and all went well. Nothing too crazy for day one but we’ve been notified to watch for students we feel are unbalanced. We’ve also been told to map exit and crisis strategies in case of situations like Virginia Tech or the Arizona shooting. Both of these situations came from college age males so the Universities are highly aware of this lately.

Other than that we’ve been up to routine things around here. We were able to complete lots of house projects which I’ll be posting up here soon.

Things Vin is doing at 2 ½
• Still says “Momma hold you” instead of “Momma hold me”
• Cannot count past 3 but knows his colors and shapes
• Says “I’m the boss” and thinks it’s true
• Rodeo’s everyday and calls himself “Beau”
• Sees pumas, snapping turtles and tigers in our house
• Still sleeps in his crib although his big bed is up
• Has started prolonging bedtime by saying “ I need glass of milk” in his whining voice.
• Loves Dora and Diego
• Plays hid and go seek under his pillow in the morning

Day two

Started the day at Cafe Du Monde with beignets and coffee.

Powdered sugar nose

My very first bite

Two happy momma's

The weather's beautiful and we enjoyed some time in Jackson Square

Muffelita sandwich lunch. Oh so good! Next stop was the Southern food and American Cocktail Museum. Could you think of a better museum for Teri and I? They let us walk through with our drinks. I swear it's the only museum in the country that allows that.

Corn exhibit for Teri...

Cocktail exhibit for Kam...

After a long afternoon nap we went to the Roosevelt hotel for an original Sazarak cocktail.

Then on to one of the most delicious meals we've ever had at Mr. B's bistro.

Day one in New Orleans ...

Started out at Pat O'Brians, the birthplace of the Hurricane.

On to gumbo

Street music from the Drunken Catfish Ramblers. They're a hillbilly band and completely adorable. We could see it being Vin, Finley and Zen someday.

Four course dinner at Brennan's that ended with Frangelico and Bananas Foster.

Why did I wait until now to come to New Orleans??
