Onward and Upward

Before I head off into 2010 here are a few of our Christmas pictures.

As much as Christmas as a feel to it, it also has a look. The look is largely the part of dedicated souls who work very hard in the weeks prior to Christmas digging out the garland, the bows, the ornaments and the various what-nots that make the holiday feel special. In my family my Mother is the master decorator year round but she is especially talented at Christmas.

Here are a few pictures of what Christmas looks like in Llano.

Terry Butt is pretty talented himself. Here is the before and after of our delicious Prime Rib we had on Christmas Day. I wish I had taken other pictures of our meals because they were all so good. I guess I was too busy eating to take pictures.

For the record's sake I also wanted to record what our first Christmas on San Saba looked like. We have 4 large pecan trees in the front yard that we're going to have to work up to each year, but we had a good start with our "Candyland House" and I think we made our statement to the neighborhood.

As much as I love Christmas I am always happy to see it end and for our lives to get back to normal. I had our house undecorated and the tree down just days after Christmas. I bought new storage bins and got everything packed up in an orderly fashion for next year and then Teri and I began planning for new projects to undertake. One of our main goals is a garden. Teri got started right away clearing out overgrown trees and weeds and most exciting of all... We now have a compost pile and it even has a fence around it!

She also continued removing the burglar bars that were on all our windows. I don' think we realized how caged up we were with the bars. Good riddance!

Whew - that's it for now, more on what else we've been up to coming soon.

This message is to Kam's mom: You did a super job raising this girl, and she totally got your Martha Stewart talent :)
Also, you have a beautiful home! Cheers!
