ER Trip #2

Apparently last weekend at the breast feeding event all the babies were exposed to the stomach flu. Vin, Trevor, Wesley and Sienna all got sick along with their parents. Vin never acts sick and so we have a hard time reading him but realized on Monday night that he hadn't had a wet diaper since 11 a.m. Since it was after hours I called my cousin Travis, a Dr. in Utah, and got his immediate advice and then at 5:45 a.m. I called our pediatrician and she said to feed him 1/2 ounce of fluid, either breastmilk or pedialyte, every 20 minutes until he could hold an ounce without vomiting. He finally starting urinating but couldn't hold down any fluid. Long story short... these small feedings went on until 3 a.m. (almost 24 hours later) when we finally decided to go to the Children’s Hosptial ER.

Our experience at Children's was fantastic! Earlier in the summer Vin had a 103 fever so we went to Baylor since it was close to the house. I cannot tell you how different the experience is at Children's, they offered us coffee, hot chocolate and brought us graham crackers. This is not the kind of care you get at Baylor.

Once we got home at 8 a.m. we had to continue to feed him small doses of pedialyte every half hour or so for the next 24 hours. In the midst of all this – Teri catches it and now she is throwing up.

Now for the exciting news…
Sally Rose aka Baby Girl Beckwith is finally here! Cassie and Kevin are so excited and Patty and Terry were in Savannah for her arrival. Once I get some pictures I will post them. We can’t wait to meet her and get the babies together at Christmas!

Your so funny! I'm glad you all are doing better. Wish I could have had a tequila shot with you!
