With our boys

The De Leon's are adjusting well to being a family of 4. Reese is growing off the charts - literally off the charts. The Dr. said he's the size of a 2 month old already. Consequently he sleeps well and of course eats well. We've got a good "schedule" down already where he's fed at 11 or 12 at night, again at 3 and then finally at 6 or 7. We alternate the 3 am feeding and so we both get about a 5 hour stretch of sleep each night. He's sleeping in the nap nanny between us in bed so he's easily accessible by both of us, but he's confined and elevated making everyone's night better. We keep a basket of diapers and wipes at the foot of the nap nanny too for easy access.


I must say that having the second child is so much easier than the first. Reese is starting to settle in a bit, but he's a vocal kid. He grunts, squeals, and gurgles all the time. Add this to Vin's nonstop stream of conscience talking and it's never quiet around here anymore.


As for Vin we're working on a few new words this week.
1 - independent - as in "Vin you need to play independently for a while" (oh how i wish he would do this!)
2. evidence - as in "Vin there is evidence that you did not lift the seat to pee."
3. I can't think of the third right now, probably because of the sleep schedule discussed above. There's further "evidence" of this in the picture of me below, I look haggard!

Reese Stats

Reese had his 2 week check up today and here are his stats:

Weight: 9 lbs, 13.5 oz Since he lost almost a pound in the first week, he's gained it all back and then some.

Length: 21.75 inches He's grown almost an inch since birth.

Overall percentaile is 75%.
 

The Big Brother Post

Last night we kept Drew for a bit so I set the kids up with their own egg dying stations. God forbid they try and share anything and I didn't want to see a dye fight insue in my utility room. Of course Vin had one of his vinegar cups spiled in a matter of minutes and Drew was crying, but we got all our kinks worked out and they had a blast coloring their eggs.
Also notice that I stripped them down to their undies for this activity.

10 Day Update

Reese had his second check up today and is doing great. He's 8 lbs. 14 oz so he's almost back to his birth weight. So far he's a lovely baby, very calm not alot of crying and sleeps almost around the clock. It's a treat when he opens his eys for an extended period but mostly right now he sleeps.

As for us we're doing good too. Teri is recovering nicely but isn't 100% back to normal quite yet. She says she gets tired in the afternoon like someone shot her with a tranqulizer gun. They're both asleep right now as a matter of fact.

Big Brother Vin likes him but is more concerned with his own cars, toys and snacks.
He'll come around more when Reese wakes up a bit.
