Vin's take on the world
Vin: Mommy will you build me a tent.
Me: Yes, I need to go get the big chairs.
Vin: Oh, those are in Momma’s restaurant (aka the dining room), but I want the little chairs from her kitchen restaurant.

Ice Cream!
On Friday I made Vin some felt ice cream cones and popsicles. They've been a huge hit and he's played with them everyday.
Here he is with his "Ice Cream Train" loading up for the day's deliveries.
In this picture he's holding the mint chocolate chip cone.I need to take some close up pictures of them because they are soooo cute!
This morning Teri discovered that he'd placed them on the TV armoire between the drawer pulls.
The possibilities for imaginative fun are endless!

House Projects Galore
Here's a recap of my summer house decorating projects. I am SO done at this point but am happy with how it all turned out.
Canvas gazebo purchased at Target on 75% clearance along with the loveseat. This has provided some much needed shade since we cut the two big trees down in the spring.
These pillows were made from my left over kitchen curtains and the orange checked ones below were moved from the inside couch. These chairs were here when we moved into this house and are super comfortable, all they needed was a quick coat of spray paint.
This is one of our newest pieces from Wisteria, of course bought on clearance at the warehouse. They are super proud of their stuff so it has be a great sale before I can justify it. A few weeks ago Marion came down for coffee and helped me arrange everything. Derek Perdue described it as "very REAL SIMPLE", what a nice compliment.
This table is the other new Wisteria piece. It has 5 leaves (only 3 are in now) so we can definitely have some people over for dinner. The chairs were found last week at an estate sale and are supposedly turn of the century French. They have soft chocolate leather seating with upholstry tacks. Very comfy and I was pleased to ditch the Ikea chairs that did not lend themselves to leisurely post dinner conversation. Also notice the iron work in the above picture. These bars were covering our windows when we moved in here and a covering with cream spray paint turned it into "art".
The bench was been in our front window and so I repainted the legs and covered the top with this fabric. It's hard to see but it's small velvet diamonds in green, orange and brown on a blue background. It goes perfectly with the pomegranate picture now hanging in here.
Our bedroom before... I HATED this bedding!
The new room is neutral creams, browns and purple. I made these pillows and the matching bed skirt.
These chairs were bought from Marion's Mom for the studio but are so great in here. The perfect place to read and watch TV.
Bench bought from Erin's Mom before she moved to St. Thomas. It was black so I covered it with a burlap top and painted our monogram. The bottom is silk
If Teri and I were a room we'd look like this...
The perfect combination of pink and orange! I based this room off this awesome Amy Butler fabric and just went for it. People are generally shocked by this room, but hey... it's just a closet so you can be as crazy as you want to be.

This was a $5.00 garage sale bureau that I painted orange for Teri. On either side of the mirror are framed 8x10 black and whites photos of the two of us. The finishing piece to this room is the orange chandelier that was previously located in our utility room but I couldn't get a good photo without the glare.
One last thing are the covered bar stools in the kitchen. They were blond wood so I painted them cream and covered them with this canvas cotton fabric. I'm now trying to finish up the upholstery tacks on the side. I like this look but it's hard to make it line up and look right.
Ok that's it for now. I'm off to my studio to make Vin some felt food. I'll post the pictures soon!
