Last of the Easter Celebrations

I love Easter... You get all the religion, sugar, gifts, family and fun of Christmas but without the stress!

With Emma at Grandma Josies opening up one of three easter baskets on Sunday

Hunting Eggs!

His basket runneth over.

Tresures are Everywhere!

Mouth full going for the next one.

Notice that he's on to his second basket of the hunt.

Mommy and Vin.

I tried to limit the amount of pure sugar he ingested and filled some eggs with necklaces instead. Here he an Emma are sharing and giving each other their necklaces.

Getting super cozy on Grandma's steps. He's taken off his smocked jumper. I guess there's only so much a boy can take of his mother's ideas.

Here with Finley at the Easter Dinner we hosted at our house.

Our Weekend

How do you have a perfect weekend? Like this... Start with a Momma/Mommy lunch of Crab Claws, beer and Bellini's. Followed by a relaxing cocktail at a "secret tree house" bar. Then It's off to see Vin in his Career Parade where his class dressed as Chefs. I promise this was not our idea but we liked it!

Vin kept with the Hat theme when he opened his Easter presents from Grumpy and Mayme. This is a cover to a book that Mamye recorded for him. Notice the new PJ's from Aunt Tara. She took him to Rio Saturday afternoon (so we got more Mommy time) and then took him to the Disney store. Woo Hoo!

Then on Sunday we went to the Perdue's for a "lovely" day of playing, shopping and visiting. Vin was asleep in the car within 5 minutes of our departure.

Ice cream from the Ice Cream truck!

More Woo Hoo!

Lots of Random Stuff

Lots of pictures from our last few weeks...
Vin and Mommy with mustaches.
Backyard before it got a haircut:
we've hated these two cedar trees from day one. Teri finally broke me down and I agreed to let us get rid of them. She hired a crew off the street - literally - and the trees were gone within 5 hours. Teri counted the rings and they were 66 years old. Kind of sad but they shaded our garden and didn't let anything grow underneath. Good riddance!

After the cutting:
The backyard has a ton of light and room now.
Fighting Nature: You win some and lose some but I lost BIG with the poison ivy. The damn stuff is everywhere in my front flowerbeds but I didn't know it since it was mid-March and not yet bloomed out. The Dr. described my legs as covered in lesions.

Castell Texas

A few weeks back we went to Llano and Grumpy and Mayme took us to this little bbq place in Castell Texas. They have an outdoor pit, picnic tables, cold beer, bar games and a pet rooster. Apparently this is not the original rooster who was famous for "having his way" with a stuffed bass fish. Youtube clip here.

Aunt Tara

Since she lives so close now we get to see her a lot! Vin obviously has lots of fun with her and helped her open her birthday presents last night.
