Party People

On Saturday Leslie graciously hosted Teri’s birthday party. It was a very grown-up affair with cocktails & hors d'œuvres and we all enjoyed getting dressed up and celebrating.Of all the people I know who deserve a party, it’s Teri. She’s an incredible wife and mother who works her tail off all the time. Here’s to you Teri!

One Fish, Two Fish, Two Hats????

This is how Vin left the house this morning. He lost the two hats on the way to school but it was a precarious balance from the start.

I got this red hat for my 13th birthday and have kept it all these years. It almost got sold in a garage sale last spring but the kids loved it so much it had to stay.

It has feathers on the top and Vin said, "Look Mommy, I have wings." and then he kept saying, "Come on Mommy, let's play Halloween"

What made this outfit even more crazy were his One Fish, Two Fish shoes that Mayme bought him

We love love love our new neighborhood! The people are great, the trees and lake are beautiful, it's quiet and peaceful but sometimes I miss all the craziness on East Side. The loud Tejano music at all hours, strange people always walking down the street, the gun shots and dog packs.

Here are a few pictures I took in 2009. Vin had just been born and I needed to get out of the house so I loaded him up and we went on a tour of our bario. These are all from different bars and restaurants in the general vicinity of our old house. I think they're hilarious!

On Saturday afternoon we hosted a toddler party in our front yard. The afternoon was beautiful and the kids went across the street to the church Trunk or Treat and then to the Catholic church carnival. We had a lovely afternoon of soup, beer and lots of candy.

Parade

We had such a busy and wonderful Halloween but the week's been busy and I've had a hard time finding the time (and the cords) to get it all downloaded. Here's Vin's school parade in the gym. Drew is the Nebraska cheerleader and Zen was sick that day so he's not featured.
